Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

Yeah, I can’t imagine anyone selling anything that wasn’t good quality! But I guess it happens.

I don’t even want to sell small eggs from my flock.

Yeah that’s how my current flock is!! Just layers and pets.

And yeah why get another roo when yours is awesome? They probably just want to get rid of him! Lol but plus it could also bring disease in!

Oh wow that’s awesome!! Haha

I just ordered both of my batches from a hatchery :lau
The only problem I ever had with ordering from our local farm that orders from a hatchery is that instead of giving us 2 JG pullets, they gave us 2 JG Cockerels. They're working for us so I'm not too upset about it.

That's the only mistake they have made in 5 years so I'm good with that. I love how I can call the local farm and look at their ordering list online to order specific breeds. My Delaware is gorgeous and so aren't my Cochins. I love having a variety.

No idea what will pop out of those eggs I bought! The rooster that they had in there was a Brahma so they should be big chickens. The eggs are white, brown, and cream.

I have to do 5 eggtopsies this morning :sick then I'm cleaning out the bator and running it dry to see what the humidity stays at.

And I'm going to play with some fluffy littles. We have been handling the one i want to keep a lot. Her name is Violet, I'll take pics of her tomorrow and post them. We haven't been home much so it's been hard to do pictures.

It's alive! The other 4 eggs had dead fully formed chicks in them :sick this has been a great experience

I hate that the others didn't hatch! Hopefully that :jumpylittle yellow thing fluffs right up & will be right at rain:fl
Not too bad that we only lost 9 eggs out of the 30 for our first ever hatch and only 2 we had issues with when they came out.

That chick that is in the picture is fully closed and everything. It was peeping too but seemed weak like it had no strength to hatch, it'll get extra loving from us today. Hubs is working till noon then he will hold it for a bit. He acts like a tough guy, but he holds these chicks daily.
