Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

:frowI'm behind.
I'm trying to catch up.
It's almost impossible to catch up! I've been working on my 2nd pen and missed so many posts & comments.....

Oh, the vaccine thing? I have no input on that. I've never gotten vaccinated birds.
Me neither, at least not that I know of. My sick pullet was purchased from Atwoods (a store like TSC), so it may have actually been vaccinated.

I was told (by tractor supply employees - so take it with a grain of salt) that the chicks they get from hatcheries are always vaccinated because they use 4 different hatcheries.

That makes sense!! Thank you!!

It looks great!!!

This is kind of a random question but how long do Myshire’s eggs usually take to get here and/or when does he usually ship them out? Right away or?? Trying to decide if I should order some quail eggs to set with the chicken eggs and when I should order them so I can set them 3 days after the chicken ones haha

Do NOT!
You haven't even built a house for the chicken eggs you ordered.

I won’t!! Maybe. Tbh quail cages are probably way easier and faster to build than a whole new chicken coop. And I was just thinking cause I’m still gonna have tons of room in the incubator...

I have a hatching addiction already and want to fill it :lau

But I don’t want to waste money having birds die cause of my inexperience with it being my first hatch and all.

So I think I will wait on the quail until I have more hatching experience and/or until spring.

I have a feeling this is going to be a COLD winter so I should probably wait. Pretty sure it is going to be very very snowy too. We are due for a real winter. Been very mild recently.

So I’ll probably just get chickens.

Thought about calling and adding more chicken eggs to the order though :lau

But I won’t. :hit

They will all die if you order eggs.
Every one of them...a slow and painful death.
