Hands on hatching and help

Has anyone experienced longer hatch rates with Orpington eggs.  This is my second time purchasing eggs and the first group only had 2 hatch and this group so far has none.  I purchased 15 eggs and then filled the rest of the incubator from my own hens.  I have had 12 hatch of my own eggs and more cracked.  The breeder is telling me that they take longer to hatch than 21 days.  Has anyone experienced this?

My lav orps are usually late day 21. I've had them go longer. Only earlier if I run the temp higher.

Hatching times are usually directly related to your temperature. Temps on the low side can delay hatch (over 21 days) and higher temps can speed up your hatch (less then 21 days). Do you have a forced air or still air incubator? And have you calibrated a separate thermometer to measure temp inside the incubator?

Ok, I have someone who really wants to raise some peacocks. I told her that I would try to find some connections and if she wants to buy the eggs, I would attempt to hatch them for her this spring. So I need some ideas on some egg suppliers, the closer to NY the better. In NY would be awesome!

My first thought would be @casportpony know anyone in or around NY with peas?

Ugh my poor little lone survivor from a batch of PO scrambled eggs is trying to hatch his air cell was the worst all the others either didn't start or quit after a cpl days he's peeping like crazy I took off the top of the air cell and covered him w/ neosporin so he wouldnt dry out there is still quite a bit of blood vessels that haven't absorbed yet idk he will make it he back in the bator peeping like crazy he already had dried blood on his face when I opened the air cell... Hope they absorb over night he wants out but he is wedged in less that 1/2 the shell as the air cell was so big I have others due tomorrow night so he will have to tough it out if not out by morning my humidity is high and I added more water keep fingers crossed for this little nugget

I can probably get some pea eggs for you in spring or maybe Pyxis. I think she has peas.

That's excellent that he's peeping!!! Just give him time and keep applying the ointment to the membrane. I do it about every 2 hours. Once all the blood and yolk is absorbed he may try to wiggle out on his own if he can.

If you can, just give me an idea of how much, price wise and I'll let her know. Same for Pyxis if she has them. Please.

400

He made it out he was a mess the yolk absorbed but was not intact so the rest covered him he was so sticky his eye was glued shut. The other 3 (from a different shipment) pipped and unzipped like rock stars they are all snuggling now hoping he's as tough out as he was in, surviving when the other 11 didn't start or quit before day 4 from being old/scrambled etc. little bugger needed a shot he only had the bottom half of the egg to develop in the rest was air cell his one little leg is weaker he's exhausted but I cleaned him up as best I could he's finally fluffing a little

I did have peachicks, until the neighbor's turkeys trampled them all to death :( Might get more in the spring. I can recommend a breeder in NY to get chicks from, but not eggs. Chicks are the better way to go usually because pea eggs are so fussy and hard to hatch even without being shipped.
