Hands on hatching and help

Just let it be.... it will work its way out. They've been doing this for millions of years.

That's not what we do here on this thread ;)

It's out -slowly.

Glad it made it out for you! In the future if one stalls during zipping and doesn't make progress, it's perfectly fine to help it finish hatching. At that point everything should be absorbed and there's no danger in finishing up the zip.

. I think something is amiss.... looks like there are organs in the egg

Electrolytes-? Describe/explain?

They give chicks a boost, which is nice right after hatching or especially after shipping. They sell them in feed stores in little packets, usually called something like Sav-A-Chick.

I like to give Poultry Nutri Drench for this purpose, it packs a punch and actually gets right into their bloodstream with no digesting required so it's very fast acting.

When a hatchling is in distress and needs assistance the sooner the better . They can injure legs struggling to get out .

Here's the latest it's gotten out of the shell but is dragging this around. And it hasn't opened its eyes yet.

That's not good, I didn't see that in your last picture. Take a look and check to see if it's unabsorbed yolk and blood vessels or if it's coming from the vent and is a hernia/prolapse.

If it's coming from the navel, it can possibly be saved. You're going to want to get it into a paper towel lined cup immediately so it isn't dragging that around and risking rupturing it. Then you want to make sure the incubator stays nice and humid so it doesn't dry out as it absorbs.

If it's a prolapse coming from the vent, there's not much that can be done to my knowledge. In that case, it might be kinder to put it out of its misery.
