In the Brooder
So, the last two eggs passed away before pipping so my first hatch rate was 25% (1 out of 4). I bought a AcuRite thermometer that measures temp and humidity and placed it in my incubator. Results?
Incubator temp reading: 99.5
AcuRite temp reading: 95.0
Incubator humidity reading: 48%
AcuRite humidity reading: 62%
Well... Those are some pretty big differences that could easily explain everything.
But if my temp was really that low...how did the chicks even develop to begin with? How did Akia turn out so perfect? Should I get a third opinion? My husband is really trying to get me to try again...he's wanting some Easter Eggers lol
BTW, I know you're probably tired of seeing Akia but I'm just so proud of my first chick, I can't help but show it off
