Hands on hatching and help

:love   I love my nns.

These guys all pile on top of each other!! They actually "fight" to be on the bottom....lol I watch them try to manuver under each other. It's so funny to watch.

Good luck hope you find it.

I think you said before that the silkies from your sis roost, right? Not these guys!! No way. The roosts are low too. When they are little they play on them but that's about it. Big pile on the floor. The only thing that really stinks about that is you have to change the bedding a lot more frequently because of it. I can't wait to see all yours full grown! :)
Yes it still had veining. I waited about an hour and then it pretty much popped out itself. Without the shell all it needed to breakthrough was the membrane. She has hatched now and is strong and adorable lol. :)

I'm out of ovations. That's great!

Woo hoo now we have an external pip with one of the ducklings!!

Exciting!!!

Yes, all 4 of my silkies roost. They'd even be the first ones in so they'd be able to have highest roost....lol. These guys try to burrow under each other. The will will jump up on the low roost during the day and sit, but at night they dog pile.

So 8 out of 9 chicks hatched. The 9th being so dark I couldn't candle it. It was infertile so I consider this a 100 percent hatch!! They are so cute.

Good news! I found a couple of Brinsea Octagons on FB, with turners, so I'm getting one. I'm not sure I'll hatch any more this season, but it sure will be nice to have an extra for next year.

And I have to share a couple new pics of George. I got this adorable little guy from @Laurel Meadows and he already has me wrapped around his little toe.

He's a real sweetie! It was wonderful meeting a fellow BYCer and her family! And one of her beautiful daughters picked a cute little boy for me (I couldn't choose!!) He will eventually replace my blue frizzle bantam cochin Armand (yes, Armand's days are numbered).

Meet George!

I decided I wanted to keep his daughters, frizzled and smooth ones, and get a smooth male from different blood lines, so I can have the "option" of getting frizzles or not. With Armand, I would not be able to keep any other frizzles at all, plus any hatchlings would have the possibility of being frizzled, so.....I've decided not to use him anymore.

Not to mention, he has taken a fancy to attacking my boots and is being a real butt lately (only to me!), so he kinda made his own deal

well we will see when I get to post pics of the new hatches, not sure when they will hatch as was dead tired from trapping, but have 2 hens sitting on who knows how many eggs as my flock tends to help them out once one decides to sit but don't see but just an edge out on one under each hen plus the Blue Swedish duck hen just started sitting on 5 or 6 eggs. and no I don't have any in the incubator lol

I'm having a hard time uploading pictures for some reason, but I will try to explain what is going on. (I'm clicking to add a picture from my computer, but it just stays in a constant state of "loading" and won't let me add) I have 3 Serama eggs that made it to lockdown 2 days ago. I started out with 6, but three were already past the 10 day mark and didn't make it very far, or not at all. My incubator is a still air and I've been keeping it dry for the first 18 days due to high humidity here in Southeast Texas. Dry it stays around 50%. The temperature has been steady at around 99.5-100 degrees. From everything I've read, Seramas tend to come a little earlier due to their size. On day 18, I upped the humidity to roughly 65-75%,...I just put a sponge in with water on it and it is still very hard to keep it at 65-75% without it trying to go to 80% due to our natural humidity here. Today is day 20 and still nothing. No cheeps signaling any internal pips or anything. I decided to crack the incubator open since my humidity was already so high and I kept a spray bottle with warm water on hand if I needed to spray inside. I candled and I can tell that two are DIS. UGHHHHHHHH....@!!! :( One is still alive though with good veins, but why hasn't it even internally pipped? What is going on? I've been monitoring everything like a hawk for the past three weeks and this is soooo discouraging. Is there anything at all I can do to help this one little lone survivor still in his/her shell?
