Congrats on the hatchers. Sorry about the other.
Thanks. Started with 49 eggs. Have 6 hatched 1 dead for sure and 8 eggs waiting. Hope they hatch. This is day 20 This is from the batch that got unplugged an accident in the beginning.

I have several eggs in my other incubator too. And they also got unplugged at some point. Ugh

There lockdown is next Wednesday.

I was thinking the same thing, just by the width of the comb area. I took a couple pics of my roo vs pullet to share. I have to get them off my fb. I took them from my ipad and last time I tried to upload from  that I had problems...lol

I have one now that up until today I was really undecided on the sex. No crowing, no big comb but he has streamers. I was leaning toward boy but he looks so girlish. Today I saw him mate one of the girls! So I picked him up and I parted his crest and really checked out his comb. It's small but it's there. I picked up a couple girls and looked and felt their combs and they really had nothing to feel compared to him. Look at the pics of this guy (it's definitely a boy) but I swore he was a girl!

I couldn't make the pic bigger on my phone but before I read this post you wrote I was going to say that the comb looks awfully big on that one for a girl. I'm inclined to say boy.

Looking at all your guys pics I think he is a boy. I think his fluff was just throwing me off because he is twice as fluffy as my confirmed roosters. Plus he is the only one who hasn't crowed yet lol. :)

I had a major scare with my ducks today. They have a small coop and run but I let them out in the yard during the day. I have a pretty big yard (for NY) and they always stay really close to home. Outside of my yard is just lots of woods. Well I guess today they got adventurous and got lost in the woods. After a few hours I found all but 1 of them. There's a slope that they got off of to go into the woods but their little legs couldn't get back up (don't ask me why they didn't try flying)!! They followed me all the way back home walking around the slope. I really thought the one that was missing must have been taken by a predator. I kept looking for her for a couple more hours. She's the leader of the pack. I couldn't find her anywhere. I went out one last time, literally minutes before dark and I could just make out a little body walking in the wrong direction in the woods. I ran down and got her!! They are all home safe!! I never thought I would get so attached to these guys. I love my chickens but ducks bond with you on a very different level then chickens do. I'm going to put up that plastic safety fencing all along the back of the property where the woods start. I'm really, really happy they are all safe!

Omg that would scare the heck out of me!!! So happy you found them safe and sound!!

Wow!! So glad you found them all!

My neighbors dog came running in my yard a couple days ago. I started screaming at the top of my lungs for my husband and neighbor. COME GET THIS @%*#& DOG!! Lol. It scared several of my OEGBs over the fence and down into the woods. They can fly very well! After hubby got the dog out, they stayed out a little while, but I lured them back with some scratch. :)

Thanks! I'm very, very happy that they all came back. I really thought the last girl was a goner because they never split up and I had walked those woods as far as they go and saw nothing. I can't believe how attached I've gotten to these little guys but they are like my babies now. I still need to sell some but I'm in no rush because I love them all so much!
Wv-I'm glad yours came back too! I'm wondering if maybe something spooked them into the woods and that's how the one got seperated. The ducks are very keen on any threats. They knew there was a hawk around before I did the other day. I'm used to the silkies that are totally, 100% oblivious to any threats!!
