Hands on hatching and help

Yeah. I'm thinking I have some temp issues. I need to read up on how to calibrate. I have no clue. Another one died today. Only one more peeping in the inky. The rest are still and silent.

Go to wal- mart get a fish tank floating thermometer .This one $3 calibrate others using it
Make sure you are taking you temperature at the top of your eggs . Tropical fish are affected more by temperature changes than hatching eggs so tank thermometers are very accurate. . There are but a few thermometers that can be set after calibration . Most are cooking thermometers probe type
G.Q.F. has one also

I was interested in tropical fish for a while so I started doing research, ya, big no! Lol Costly and way too much added responsibility...lol There's a lot to it with temps, ph rates, salt rates. Not for me.

@Pyxis did you ever get your turner back from Brinsea?

I just set more eggs and happened to think about it.

Set from my flock: 15 Seramas, 8 bantam cochins, and 4 chocolate orps.

Nope. Last time I called was last Thursday and I was told that it was sitting on the shelf to ship back out and it "might" ship out the next day. They wouldn't even guarantee that they would ship my fixed turner back out the next day...

Still haven't received it.

Dang, that is disappointing on so many levels. :/

Yep, I sent it back before I set my eggs that I just locked down. Had to do the whole incubation with no auto turner, ugh. It's taken them that long and still I don't have it back. The customer service is awful.

Alright, I just set 5 more eggs today, might throw some more in tomorrow. I cranked up the temp to 101.5 since my last batch hatched a day late (for the one chick that actually hatched). Fingers crossed!

Hello.
I hope someone can help me. I'm a first time hatcher of fresh eggs from a farm.

Last week one of the eggs at 22 days sunk in the water test, but within seconds was wiggling. So we gave it one more day and then it didn't wiggle. We assisted it and it was not breathing, and had its full sack still.

What did we do wrong?

We have one today that is at 22 days and it also sank in the water, but strong wiggles. What can I do now to keep it alive? Assist?

We have a home made incubator that is having temp fluxs from 98 to 101, and humidity of 55.

Have 7 more eggs that are looking strong due on the 8th.

Thank you
