Never seen one of those unbreakably broody hens!!! LOLChochin who has decided to go unbreakably broody
Come on over..... Broody buster - nothing. 2nd round in the Buster, still nothing. Playing Jack in the Box, taking her off, then off, then off......nothing. Covering her chosen nest box, she just pulled the just-laid eggs out from a different box and plopped her hiney on top of them - on the floor right in FRONT of "her" covered box. Back to the broody buster, 9 hours later she's back in the nest. I've been pecked, scratched, and screamed at for almost 3 weeks. I've given up, because she sure won't. Shoot, I'd even douse her in cold water if we still weren't so cotton pickin' cold here.Never seen one of those unbreakably broody hens!!! LOL

You Ladies have some determined Ladies----I was being honest----""""""I""""" personally have never seen a unbreakable broody at my place-----I am not saying she want go back broody in a few weeks, but if she does---she goes back in the cage.
Does your girls "set" on the wire bottom cage floor the several days they are in there? Or act like a broke broody but go right back to a nest as soon as they are taken out??? How long have you made them stay in the broody breaker cage?? Just Curious.
Edited to add----once showing signs of being broody--how long do you wait before putting them in the cage?
I think the first time I stuck Furfeet in in the buster cage was the third day in. She was in there for about 3 days too. In a day she was right back on the nest. Lather, rinse, repeat. Now, I do have to say that when I went out to do morning chores, she was OFF the nest and waiting for the food pan to be filled, so maybe..just maybe.Honestly, I haven't caged these two to break them. My cage is on the porch, not in the coop and it's too cold to pull her to the cage...lol
My spitz took 4 or 5 days in the cage to break her the first time. The second time she'd act broke, I'd let her go out and she'd be right back on the nest, so I'd put her back in the cage, a couple days later we'd go through the same thing. Some of these can be stubborn. My silkies, I brought in bathed them, blow dried, pampered...hoped Thant would entice them out....nope...lol did nothing for them.
Was hoping they'd break themselves, but it seems not.
