Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Did it hatch yet?

Yes but the yolk wasnt fully absorbed I have him in half his shell right now with the yoke covered but he’s fighting me like crazy to get out, any suggestions?

Depending on how much is not absorbed, if it's just a small pea size bump, it should be safe to let it wiggle out of the shell, keep it restricted to an area so it can't hurt itself, on something soft, like a cotton rag, etc.

You can clip that off, leave about an inch from the navel. looks like I see a little open spot under the feathers too? That should close up very soon, probably by tomorrow you won't even know it was there. Still keep him on something soft, and away from any others, but that should heal just fine!

Hey guys. My silkie is sitting on 3 call duck eggs. Ducklings are mixed. Mom is a call and dad is a silkie duck. Anyways I cant remember how long they should be internally pipped for? I think 48 hours but not positive. When should I worry if they dont externally pip? 2 eggs have a hairline crack and I'm worried about them losing humidity. Thanks.

Don't worry too much. Momma silkie is the best at getting them to hatch

Thanks that puts my mind at ease. This is my first time using a chicken to hatch duck eggs. I think I much prefer my incubator lol.

I know!

The Broody controls the humidity. She rips her feathers out on her belly to increase it. We have to add water LOL!
