Hard-boiled eggs-Any more ideas?

use a pin to prick a hole in the blunt end of the shell before boiling.

Seems like the insides would come out as it cooked.

I think the idea is you poke the shell but not through the membrane.. (?)

Hi,

Here is a link to the best ever way to make hard boiled eggs peel. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=115799

I
have even used this for super fresh eggs gathered the same day and it works! Good luck!

I have had very good luck with cooking them for 25 minutes on just a boil. Drain, then I put them on top of ice while I run cold water over them. I peel them when they are just starting to get cold. I hold them under the water while I peal them. I still have a hard time with peeling that giant gray cochin eggs. All the others pretty near just fall out of the shell. She is a weird chicken.

I can't believe that boiling eggs for 25 minutes will not cause green yolks! That is the way my mother cooked. Everything was overdone. But I'm going to try it. I hate letting fresh eggs sit for three weeks!
