Hard boiled eggs without peeling

Ok I tryed this on my fresh eggs, IT did not work for me. I had very sad looking deviled eggs. Thank goodness they tasted good.

I had been saving eggs in the fridge for 5 (five!) weeks for yesterdays tray of deviled eggs. Every single one peeled like a dream.

2 dozen eggs, 1/3 c. salt, water to cover at least an inch or two above the eggs. Slow boil for 10 - 12 min. Pour off hot water. Cover in fresh cold water. let sit for 5 - 10 min. They all peeled very nicely.

I had seen his done before but unless I am eating the eggs I am not sure it is a good thing to put my mouth on them. LOL

adoptedbyachicken,

OK, I was so excited because this has always been a big problem for us, too. I went to tell the DW. She couldn't believe the story, so she watched the video with me.

She promptly corrected me...we "throw in some ice", not "erythromyocin"! Guess I should have listened to the video a little closer, but then maybe that should be a part of the process if I intend to blow out the contents! LOL.

My mom and I were just talking about how hard it can be to peel eggs. We watched the video and will be trying it. However, if it does not work at least we got a good laugh out of it.

I set my eggs out on the counter for 2 days. Then when I boil them the come right off. I did this just last week, for the 4th. My mom even commented the they were very easy to peel. At the last min I realized I needed an egg for the potato salad. So I threw one in the pot thas was laid just that day and I like to never got the shell off.

I once complained to my health food store that something was wrong with their eggs because they wouldn't peel. My first experience with FRESH eggs!!

Well I don't know about peeling my chicks havn't laid yet so I can't tell you if this works.
But this is what I do to get a perfectly cooked hard boiled egg.
I put the eggs in the cold water bring the water to a boil shut off the stove and cover the pan for 15min. Remove and place in an ice bath.
perfect everytime not over done a bit. Thank you Alton Brown and the food channel.
