hardy breed for ohio?

ya i was researching black australorps. they seem to be good. haven't researched buckeyes yet.
also is there anywhere that sells a broody line? like the idea of not having to incubator all new chicks.
could i get a breed i like and keep a few "pet" hens to use to brood eggs?
just a thought...

I've been astonished by how cold hardy all of my chickens are! I don't have any heat in my coop and we just went through temperatures of minus 15 degree (NOT counting the windchill). I have a lot of bantams including a Serama and a Japanese as well as some silkie chicks out there and they have all been fine. I had no idea how resilient chickens are!
