Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

Well she stayed in there for bed and didn't go up to roost......... Of course the nest box she went into last isn't even HER favorite but a favorite of 2-3 of my other girls. They are going to be PISSED when she doesn't leave it! LOL

My broody hens have been stirring up the same chaos here. Sooo much bickering out there!

I know it would be amazing for it but I have babies coming on Friday or Sat..... I have extra panels folded up so I may be able to block the rest under the poop boards and put a divider between them....
totally up to you, not her, when and if she gets to sit on eggs. Another option might be to give your broody the babies when they come, instead of eggs. If she accepts them, you won't have to brood.

I have been trying to hatch her eggs. I was collecting them for my 3rd attempt so I am good with her trying. But I want to be sure she is committed first.

She just started mid day today and got off a couple times once for a couple hours. Wouldn't Friday/Sat be too soon to give her chicks? Thought I read it should be close to 3 weeks later.

3 weeks is the standard but every hen is different

Every hen is a little different but I don't usually have any luck giving my broody hens chicks if they haven't been sitting for at least a week. I have a super sweet broody that I tried doing this with just recently. She wasn't mad about the chicks, didn't peck them, allowed them to sit under her but her momming instinct didn't kick in. She just walked away and didn't make the ticking time bomb cluck cluck cluck sound for them either, lol!

This is her first time broody and she just turned a year. Not sure how she would do getting babies only a few day into being broody, that is if she even stays broody.

It's really not their age or how many times they've been broody. I have a hen that is less than one year old, her first time being broody, and she's doing fantastic. One of the best broody hens I've had actually.
On the flip side of the coin I also have a two year old hen that was SO MEAN to the new chicks, she sat for 6 whole weeks so it wasn't the time frame, she will be going to a new home. I don't tolerate bullies.
It's an instinct thing so once they show you that they're a good broody or not, it's pretty much always going to be that way. With the exception of outside circumstances changing the outcome, for example, some hens won't accept chicks unless they hatch them out themselves, this doesn't really mean they're bad broodies...just picky. lol
