OK I just checked the website - no admission fee, sorry! Must have been the Sports show there that charged an admission fee - now that is an awesome show! The Farm Complex is huge and I know that we got turned around and lost several times so make sure you get a map and take a compass, LOL!!

Was looking at the website and jeepers, they're gonna have a ton of food! Like, is the National Guard hauling it in or what!?

I see there will be chick hatching you can watch, too. Hope I can find it! I just need the weather to cooperate that week!

I'm printing out maps, I get lost at the drop of a hat...

There are close to 1600 entries for this years poultry department. Judging will be all day on Saturday Jan.9 2010. Judging will be done by APA judges, Rick Porr,Paul Kroll, and Jamie Matts.

I will be showing several birds at the PA Farm Show this year. Some of my light brown leghorn, pekin duck, and bantam RIR wil be there.

Ive lived here my whole life, an hour from Harrisburg but Ive never gone. I looked at the map online last year and decided it was WAY too big to navigate... lol

I don't know if I'm going yet. It depends on the weather, work, and so many other things.

LOL you all crack me up! :-D I live 20 min from the farm show, and of course go several times a year! It ISSS well worth the trip however those of you mentioning the weather...you can count on it being ugly. There's a saying around here that if there's any week of the year to expect bad weather, it's farm show week. Don't know why, but in the 18 years I can remember going, it's ALWAYS been either snowing, sleeting, or flooding rain MOST of the week! I also go to school right next door to the farm show and we always start the week of it which never made much sense to me because traffic in that area is a mess and they give OUR parking lot over to the farm showers! Grrrrr! I am fairly certain it starts the 13th this year. There are MANY kinds of animals and you all would LOVEEEEE the rows and rows of chickens!!! I didn't have chickens last year when I went so I am anxious to go see them all now that I KNOW something about them! There is also always a HUGE glass bator with eggs hatching!!!

So for those hatching addicts on here you could stand there ALL DAY and watch them hatch ;-) MUCHOOOO good food too. Like I said parking and traffic stink but that's because it's ALWAYS busy and it's definetly worth the stress! Anyone have questions, or need help getting there, or even need a place to crash if the weather is bad, let me know ;-) I will probably be over a few days between classes or so, so those of you showing chickens post it here so I can go check them out!!!
welcome to Harrisburg PA!!!

It is the sportsman show that they charge a fee... an arm and a leg too I must say for not getting to see a whole lot!

I usually go over from school so I havent had to worry about parking in a good many years but if I remember correctly, admission is free but there's a parking fee. And you may have a good sized hike to get there if they are putting over flow at HACC or at the wildwood nature center.
Also for those out of towners there's a new hotel right niext door to the farm show building. I'm considering staying there so I don't have to fight traffic to get to class ;-)

seriously all of you thinking you might get lost, let me know if I can help. PM me if you want and I'd probably even give you my cell in case you get lost.
