Do you have a Gel Ice Wrap or anything? I would be inclined to apply something cooling tonight to try to reduce swelling tonight and maybe even start him on Bute with it being a previous injury site. Better to be a bit over the top now as playing catch up tomorrow. Will be keeping my fingers crossed that he hasn't aggravated it and is fine once the shoe is off. I really can't believe the run of bad luck you are having. So pleased that Keepers recent set back was something minor.

I do Barbara :) I have these that mould and fit right up the tendon at either side when you wrap a bandage around them to hold them on.

Unfortunately they were at home when I was at the yard earlier so for tonight I’ve put wraps and bandages on his back legs. Hoping that will keep the swelling down until I can get some cold on that leg :fl I just so want that shoe off!

Got that shoe off this afternoon :yesss: Pleased to say his leg was not looking too bad this morning. Bandaging seems to have worked and I gave him two lots of Bute. As he’s a big girls blouse he walking around like he’s on hot coals with his bare foot but finally my farrier replied and he’s coming tomorrow afternoon to put a whole new set on him :ya

Pleased to hear it got taken off and he will have a new set soon. Personally I would probably have that set put back on as there appears to be very little wear on them. Relieved for you that the swelling on his leg didn't get any worse.

I rode out with a friend on Archie and Zak today and we had a bit of an eventful ride! I thought my friend might enjoy a jump and there is a hunt jump coming out of the woods that is made of slip rails. It was down, so I got off specially to put it up for her. I let her ride Zak because the last time I rode Archie he pulled like stink and my arms were 2 inches longer when we got home, so I though that she would have a better ride on Zak.... he is my horse of choice. Anyway she somehow became unbalanced over the jump (Zak took her over the high end) and lost her stirrup and ended up hitting the deck. I had to get off to get her back on... thankfully she was ok.... and we did the jump a couple more times and then continued on and I bumped into an ex colleague and got chatting and we were standing on a nicely mowed grass verge and suddenly Zak crumpled to the ground to have a roll with Steph still on him! Little Oik! I was worried sick he would wreck Ian's good saddle so I was screaming at her to get him up. After that, I decided that I had better put her on Archie after all! Of course Zak was no bother with me, he was just taking the Mick with her. We had a good laugh about it though! It seems like I never have an uneventful outing with horses these days!
Hope you didn't get too much rain today. So pleased it didn't hit our part of the country! Hope you have a great weekend. X

Wow Barbara! Never quiet for you is it  And that was without it being your beastie’s! Can you imagine what would happen if WE went out together? It seems neither of us can have an uneventful ride. You really need to get a GoPro to record all these things! Glad to hear Steph was ok, hope it hasn’t knocked her confidence? They sure do know what they can and can’t get away with when different people ride them.

Got Harry’s shoe back on this afternoon :clap He didn’t have time to do him all round but tightened the clenches up on his other shoes and he’s coming back next Saturday for a full doing. As soon as that shoe was back on he was sound again. I tell you, that horse will have shoe’s on until his dying day!

Kim, it does sound like you've been stretched a bit thin these days!! :hugs I sure know what that is like. :p

BEAUTIFUL facilities you have now for all your flocks!! Very neat and tidy!! :)

And I am so glad you got the little quail back with his buddies, whew, when they escape it really scares you to death!!

Great that Harry's hoof was ok and he got his new shoes on!! :woot Yes, shoes either they slip off easy in any ol' mud puddle, or they stick as if they were cemented on!!

Great job on everything Kim!! :hugs :)

That is English! Certainly the majority of English people would understand such a phrase, but I take your point, in that the queen or the BBC probably don't use it. There must be an American equivalent but I'm not sure what it would be, but it means he is a wuss or a wimp.... in other words he doesn't cope well with discomfort. I'm really not sure where the term is derived from. It is quite odd when you think about it!
