My hubby just said something that sounds right on to me. He said; Most farm eggs will be fertile. And the dishonesty comes to play when you up the price for the same exact eggs that you can buy fresh for the table. Once you pay the seller, they become your property to do as you please

How many times do I have to say it....

At that point in time I was NOT selling hatching eggs.

It had nothing to do with money. It was her attitude about what she was doing.

The hatching eggs I'm going to sell are NOT the same eggs that come from my laying flock.

Ahh Jim,
for your information I am going to a swap tomorrow where I am sure I will buy more chickens that I really do not "need" but I am sure will buy anyway and I have a bator full of eggs ya little wiseacre.
Actually Kelly and I are going to the same chicken meet tomorrow in New Hampshire and I thought that is where she is from for some reason, but then I just noticed her state was Massachusetts so there

I have actually heard of people hatching farmstand eggs before, there has been other threads about this, as well as hatching store bought eggs.
They are always leghorns from the store(don't know about the farmers) and since I don't like leghorns (too crazy for me) I would never risk owning them again.

You are fine, your situation is a little different than Katy's. You bought yours at an outlet. I have met Katy. I really think that if this person would have approached her, and told her what she was wanting to do....she could have gotten pure breeds for a good price.

I have to step in here and throw my two cents in here. I don't think the OP really did anything wrong by buying those eggs and putting them in the bator as they were sold at the feedstore with no seller information, and according to the post said farm fresh eggs, didn't give a purpose for them.

However with that said, I would NEVER go to someone that breeds chickens and ask for eating eggs and throw them in to hatch. I'm way to honest for that, and also realize how much it costs to raise and maintain purebred stock to try to get "one over" on someone like that.

I hope not...except they sure are gorgeous ones.

I have really been afraid to count how many I really have. Luckily they are only 2 weeks old, so I can still try deny that there are any boys. Except for the one out of my flock. His comb was HUGE at hatching.

It would be nice if he had the decency to do one of those baby crows....I REALLY want to hear it.

Thanks Tonya. You are right, I would have gotten her the eggs she wanted if she had asked.

I find it interesting that I've become the "bad guy" in this thread when I just posted my answer to a question that was asked and said why I wouldn't ever do it because of my own experiance.
