Has anyone ordered from Welp Hatchery? Question!!!!!

I ordered from Welp almost 4 weeks ago and all my birds are healthy except one runt who is fine just small. I would call them to see when ship day is. They seemed very nice and sent exactly what we wanted. I am happy.

I just got my chicks from Welp. One was smothered during shipping but the rest are doing great. I ordered all speckled sussex but I suspect that one is different. Not as striped as the others, overall darker brown, different pattern on it's cheeks and darker legs. We'll see what it turns into as it's feathers come in.

Oh yeah. I didn't get a specific ship date from them either but the web site says they ship on Mon and Wed, mine were shipped on the Wed of the week I specified.

I got this last order of chicks on Oct. 17 from Welp and couldn't be happier with the group. It was straight run and fairly evenly split, really nice temperament to the group, growing really well.

Good luck with your chicks. If you have any questions call them, they've been very nice on the phone with me.

I was wondering because I chose ASAP for the ship date.

Then they will email or call you if they get a batch to hatch. It's also easy to call them and just ask. They have to play it by ear with "due dates" for hatches and actual "hatching" so it's never a totally set time period.

It took them about 6 weeks once to get me a batch of black broilers because of a botched hatch.

Even the Pro's botch hatches. I have had it happen with three different groups and two different hatcheries. Sometimes they seem to be in the mail the next day and sometimes it's weeks and weeks later. Living things pose a certain gamble. Especially LITTLE living things.

Good luck. Cher

I get my broilers from Welps every year through my feed store. They are the cheapest for cornishxrocks I have found and untill last year I had great luck with them. been buying thier broilers for about 20yrs now..
I have bought some layers from them and they are the barn yard variaty, not show birds at all.
