Hatch-a-long! ~ Anyone setting 8JAN-15JAN??

I wonder if you call the post office if they arrived during the day they could find them and you could pick them up. I had mine held at the PO for pick up they arrive there at 10:30 am I was called at about 11.30am to pick them up. Worth a try if you dont want to wait til tomorrow.

Problem with picking up is we only have one car and DH has it at work today. :/

They do have second deliveries sometimes. A truck comes through mid/late afternoon sometimes with box deliveries. Crossing my fingers...

Called the post office. Apparently the truck from Denver got overfull so a bunch of boxes didn't make the trek down today. :/ She said I was the 5th caller who had a box that 'left Denver' this morning but wasn't on the truck. :(

She did say they specifically separate out hatching eggs as livestock so they don't get crushed. They go in a special container that they use for chicks and such.

Oh thats good to know they seperate the eggs. Im glad you found out whats going on and fingers crossed you get them tomorrow. Do you know how long youll let them rest and if your going to wait to turn them once they are in the incubator?

Ok I am new to this. I have just bought my first incubator and I am so excited about it. I love my chickens. They bring me so much joy. This morning I woke up and found that a critter got my favorite silkie Genevieve. She did leave behind one egg. I am hoping that it will hatch. Wish me luck

Good luck! We will be rooting for you!

Chicken Pickin- 12 hours minimum, probably closer to 18 just because I will set Saturday morning or early afternoon, depending on when the eggs arrive and how traumatized the box looks.

Ooooh exciting, another hatchalong thread. I've been posting on the other but wanted to pop over here too

My first time hatching. Bought the $60 little giant incubator from feeders supply and put 18 of my australorps eggs in it. I set the night of the 7th so I consider the 8th as technically my first day. I'm 3 days in and I see something in all of them! Very exciting

But I'm still considering this one my test hatch and trying not to get my hopes up to high.

Already know i'm not technically supposed to use marker. Plan on using pencil or colored pencil next go. That's my nephew left and me hovering constantly watching the temps as it heated up.

And here are the parents! My little group of Australorps that will soon be growing!

Yes I am puttin my rode island reds eggs in with her. I also lost two of my roses too. A possum or something got them. But hubby came to rescue and fixed the hole. So they r safe now

Those are beautiful parents! I am wanting some silkie eggs and some polish eggs and if I can find them show girls. My daughters birthday is coming up and she is my Mimi me farmer! Does anyone know whet I can get some
