Hatch-A-Long; GemmaGA's Very First Incubator Hatch!

Ok so tomorrow is the big day...and now the worry and paranoia is setting in! I keep checking the eggs for action, and I don't see any wiggly-jiggly goodness yet. Some are bantam eggs (Silkie) and some are not (too many other breeds to mention at this point!).

If I were a hen, I wouldn't worry about temp and humidity and crossing all my fingers and toes for a good hatch, but this is my first one and I really want it to go decently well. I do not expect 100% hatch rate, but at least my silkies and lavender orps! (pretty please oh god and or goddess of the incubator...) :fl:jumpy

Hubby says I miscalculated and it's really one more day to hatch day. Candled one egg just to make sure...looks pretty good.

I feel like I did everything right (except maybe candled a few more times than I should have but I was excited..)

Anyone have any words of encouragement/wisdom? I'm a little panicked right now.

Patience! I am excited and waiting with you! ❤️

Ok! So updates.....

I was a little premature with thinking the egg had pipped. I SWORE I saw a tiny end of a beak, but it was a smudge of the mark I made on the end of the egg to identify which breed...duh.

BUT! The tiny silkie egg did start to pip later in the day, I could hear it peeping in the egg this afternoon, and haven't really seen much movement since. The white membrane under the shell does not appear to have been pierced yet but a piece of the shell is broken.

So - is this good news? Do I need to watch to see if hatch help is needed? Thoughts? Suggestions? Just be quiet and be patient?

Thanks.
