Your hubby must be a truck driver if he needed a Peterbilt! Maybe he can pick you up some of those White Breese in Florida from the place I gave you that link to, so that you can add them to your new incubator cabinet that he's getting for you? You can save on the shipping cost!:gig

He does not run into Florida as there is no freight coming out. But what he may do is order the breeds I so badly want.

Candled the eggs this morning. 3 have definite veins in them. The other 27 are questionable. I am going to give them another few days and see what they look like then

Candled eggs with a much stronger light source and 16 of the 30 are looking good. the other 14 I need to recheck on Thursday to be sure. I see a ton of clear eggs in there. Will crack them to see if they were even fertile.
The second batch of eggs I have 8 in the incubator and I will check them on Thursday. Not that I expect to see much as they are olive eggers. They are about 2 days behind the first batch.
Turkey eggs are on the way and should be here on Thursday. I may have more eggs coming after that. I have an auction for ducks ends ending tonight and I will see if I win it.
If I can get everything to hatch even a bit from each batch I will be not making a huge hatchery order this year.

You need a really strong light. I am pretty sure for the dark ones you need a 1200 lumen light source.
I will be getting a new one of these

Those are suppose to be really good flashlights. since you can focus the light and it is 5000 lumens, that should work real well.

I am praying for all I am worth. I think the heating element just may have quit on the one incubator.

I candled last night. The 12 White Breese eggs were easy to see to candle. I see those spider veins starting already! (In the eggs, not my legs) :gig I will have to wait a bit on these Australorp ones though because they are darker, so I will try to candle them again tomorrow night.

White eggs are so much easier to candle but the dark eggs are great as well.

I have 27 eggs from the original 36 going strong. Added 8 turkey eggs last night and tomorrow will be 8 ducks eggs.
