Hatch-Along - Eggs set in November, due December, anyone?

Lockdownnnnnnn!!!
Candled again day 18 all babies look perfect. Even saw a little foot.
weird how just one day makes such a difference in candling.

Tomorrow my 18 day ends and lockdown begins. I'm in the process of making a hatching tray... I was thinking of hatching in cartons but now I am making one myself.

I took a styrofoam sheet, marked it, made 21 spots for my eggs, and made spaces using a heated teaspoon

I'm doing a little experiment of my own... clean washed eggs vs. dirty unwashed eggs.. The farmer I got them from sold me a doz fertile eggs laid the very day I bought them. for 6 dollars. Since it was my first time buying fertile eggs from him he gave me a doz "for breakfast" he said. I said oh are they fertile?? and he says oh no you don't want to incubate those, they have been cleaned.. well I stuck them in the bator too and so far so good. I think I had to toss more of the "fertile hatching eggs" I've read pleanty of posters who do it both ways. I just want to see for myself

Besides it cheaper to buy the "breakfast eggs" lol.

Oh I never washed the eggs. They are always pretty clean.
Good luck on your hatch as well. What kind of chicken?

I turn mine night and morning. I'll probably turn in the middle of the day too. I know the more the better.

That's a really cool idea candyman!!! I tried my first hatch in an egg Carton with no success. I think their were other factors involved but it still made me nervous to try it again. I put mine on their side on top of some wash clothes this time.

What kind of Chickens is everyone hatching??????

I've got black and red sexlinks and some pure RIR. YAY for lockdown everyone.. I'll be there in 5 more days!!! So I'll get my fix of little hatchers online while I'm waiting hehe.

My hatch is over 3 hatched out of the 6 eggs that made it to lock down , the other three died right after lock down look like,
Little brown one is Gingerbread, deeper orangish one is Eggnog , I need a name for the light yellow one , it needs to go with the other two so christmas food related maybe.
