Hatch-Along - Eggs set in November, due December, anyone?

Hi all, We have a lot of electricity shortfall in Pakistan. So we have a lot of load-shedding, the electricity runs out for 1 hour after every 2 hours. And at night we don't have power for 5 hours

the incubator wouldn't run, thought we had it set up but we changed our mind.

Now I have 26 eggs set in an incubator in an army cantt area which has power all the time and 15 more under a hen. The first cluch is

expected on the 11 of June, and the 2nd one on the 13th of June, so again I will be handing over all the 41 chicks to the foster mommy

I will post any pictures as I get them, because both the setups are far away from where I am now. What are all of you upto nowaday??

I am still trying to finish my chicken coop! I hope to have it finished in the next week or two. I also need to get my chickies used to each other, for they are all in different cages and are not fond of one another. Candyman, I hope your incubator (and hen!) will be full of baby chickies in a few weeks!

I will post a picture of my coop when it gets finished (if it ever does!!!!) and I have to warn you, it will not be the prettiest coop around (but it will probably be the sturdiest!). My dad says that when it is finished, if there is any kind of natural disaster, at least we will know that the chickens survived! XD

Basil is crowing almost every morning! He is a great (and horrible!) alarm clock! :3

ha ha ha ha, good to hear that, if the world is coming to an end, maybe that is where I should be staying ... and post your coop pics while it's under construction... maybe we'll learn something new from it...

Hello everyone,

I have to rebuild my chicken coop we had major flooding and it washed my coop away I have not even found any part of the coop, it is like it never existed, we didn't have any fencing around it but it took two men to move in and mother nature a couple of minutes to take it away. But I still have one coop, the one that is gone was for my chicks that were too young to be put with the rest of the flock. I didn't lose any chickens I had them put up very high and the chicks which are about 8 or 9 weeks old were put into my spare bathtub. The water came up so fast my husband and I and our 3 dogs had to be rescued by boat. Talk about a crazy day and night and then the clean up began and is almost back to normal. Didn't have a lot of water damage inside the house.

I remember pics of the second chick wow how they all changed. Mine that hatched in late Dec. have now just started to learn to crow, wow some really need lots of practice or a throat lozenge. I'm still waiting on the hens to start laying, their combs have just really started to turn red, red, so it will be soon.
