Hatch-Along - Setting eggs week of February 8th!! Who's joining me?

I'm getting nervous on these eggs...I candled a couple last night and saw life in one...granted I didn't candle a bunch, but it was one out of four, and I'm not even positive on that one.

My chicken eggs are doing pretty good I think. They maybe a couple not fertile. Don't think any of my 5 duck are are fertile. Day 7 for them and nothing.

I put 14 Swedish Flowersand 7 sebrights eggs on Friday the 8th. The Swedish Flowers are shipped eggs and the sebrights from my son's hens. I have them in the Briensa eco 20 first time using it.

I just candled and I saw one egg with life in it - one of my mixes. If these buff eggs don't start showing life soon I'm going to have to open a paypal claim against the person who sold them to me. Beginning to think they're not fertile, and I was duped.

Edit: The little snots are starting to develop right under the darn air cells, so I couldn't see the veining! I just candled some again and looked closely, and sure enough, some tiny veins peeking out from under the air cell. Also, earlier in the day I went out and grabbed some eggs from the coop to toss in, since I'm soon finding a new home for my alpha rooster since he keeps tearing up the other boys' backs and I want some of his blood in my flock in the form of a daughter. Well, I have a broody and I grabbed some of the eggs she was kindly keeping warm for me. I grabbed the ones I thought were freshest, since I know some of the older ones she was on froze and aren't good anyway. She'll be a mom of adopted chicks by the end of the week anyway and all the eggs she's on would be forgotten. Candled to see if any had developed and holy smokes, one has to be at least two weeks along already! Another is at least a week, maybe more. Don't know how I'll do lockdown for them, I guess I'll just have to guess based on how far along they seem when I candle. The older one even moved around for me :)

Are the eggs scrambled? I purchased a dozen eggs last year and only 3 were looked to be fertile, I paid $50.00 for those eggs and ended up losing them all. I contacted the breeder asking about fertility. She offered to send out more eggs free of charge. Turns out the USPS mishandled them. It's a risk we take purchasing shipped eggs. How long have you had them in? can you see the yolk?

Maybe if you contact her she will replace the eggs without having to make a claim against her, most people will work with you. Everyone who ships eggs is aware of this problem and try to make things right even when it's the USPS who is to blame.

February 14th...still the week of the 8th, right? I am a newbie at hatching, but setting a bunch of eggs tomorrow. We shall see.
I have 11 lavendar orpingtons
6 marans
6 Bantam Blue cochins
6 Frizzles.

I look forward to all of your knowledge. I am sure I will have a lot of questions.
