Hatch along!!!! setting january 11-15!!!

Well we have at least 1 under broody!
We ended up being down to 4 eggs so I really hope we get a few more!
I am trying so hard not to go and annoy her..... So hard!

That would be hard at least with an incubator i could see through the window at what was hatching. I think I would go nuts if I couldn.t see anything.

Just got home from work. Of course the FIRST order of business is checking eggs!! Yay! One chick has hatched and is peeping up a storm.!! WooHoo!

Kind of hard to tell from the picture...haha but it is not easy holding a hen up with one hand, and taking a picture with the other

I think I am going to have a hard time restraining myself from staying outside watching and watching to see who (if any) hatches next!

I have a pip and it's pretty far onto the side. Not sure if it's in the air cell. I'm hoping it is and that's the one that's cheeping. And now I have to go pick up my DD from school. Double argh!!!!! I'm hoping it doesn't suffocate.

Can anyone tell me how long it might take from first chick hatching to any others? At this time there is only one chick. I can't see any other pips or movement at all in the other 9, but it is hard to get a good look with a broody on them. Just wondering if there may be more, or if I will just have the one?

Destinysma what a cute baby. Congratulations! My chick looked like his/her inner membrane was starting to stick to nostrils, I pushed it aside a smidge, noticed some tiny vessels and backed off. Went into the kitchen got my new unused olive oil mister and misted the inside of the bator with very warm water and shot the humidity up over 80. Hopefully that will keep the chicky from shrink wrapping tonight. I am so not going to be able to sleep tonight. My other three wiggle a bit from time to time, but no pips. The 1/4 hatched chick is making a racket so I hope he will incite the others to action. Now I know how helpless my husband felt when I was in labor.

Wow! good work. This is my first ever hatch, so I am realllllly excited/nervous. How long should it take before more chicks hatch? Of course there could be more going on under the hen, but when I looked last I didn't see anything but one fluffy chick. GAH How long does it usually take for all to hatch?
