Hey Luke I'm a week ahead of you. Mine are due the 24 , but will watch for your up dates. I just finished candleing mine, and found 4 out of 48 that seem to clear to be fertile. I did leave them in and will check again in a few days, but think they are history.

its my third time with the incubator, usually i use broodies to do the work, mum's know best, but its still a good way of getting lots of chicks.
all of my eggs are from my flock, all from my roo he is a red sexlink mix,

six are a black rock/ my roo,
six are rhode island white mix / my roo
and one is from my andalusian/serama / my roo.

hope to be getting lots of egg laying beautys.
3 are going to be for a friend of mine, because last week a dog got in to the coop and killed all 15 of the 16 chickens that he had, only got one baby chick that was hiding under his mum's corpse

Hi, I have some eggs under some broodies that are due to hatch on March 1 or thereabouts. I'll join ya! Maybe you can give me some pointers since you've done it before.

Yep Luke, I already have a question ... Is it true that embryos start developing only once a hen starts sitting on it? Should I consider the first day as the day I set the eggs under my broodies ... or the day the eggs were laid? I got my hatching eggs from TN and I live in HI so there was a 4-day travel time. That will determine whether or not my eggs will hatch the same day as yours! Thanks in advance for any insight!
Aloha,
J
