hatch along with me!!!! march 3rd is hatch date :) PIPING ALLREADY!!!!

Will be going into lockdown late Monday afternoon
with 18 Black Australorp eggs. Hatch date is March 4th.
Had 1 turkey egg make it (so far) hatch date for it is
March 7th. The people I got the turkey egg from
have so far never gotten 1 of them to hatch so
hope luck is on our side when hatch time comes.

Just put the 3 eggs that survived the P.O. and the Bulb blowout in lockdown, 2 for sure are alive and well, 1 I'm not so sure about....

My lock down is Tuesday... 1 BCM not too sure about but the other 7 are no good. My 2 brown from my own flock are doing great and the 5 green, can't see through the shell but I'm sure they'll hatch.
Bummber on my BCMs but "when first you don't succede... try try again."

welcome and i hope everything goes well, got bad news...
the chick hatched fine it had chipmunk colouring

but then i went to look at it and it was gasping for air, i picked him/her up,
looked in its mouth and nothing was blocking the air way, so i just hel it there
for about twenty seconds and it died...

i have no idea what happened

any ideas on what on earth happenned???? i'm so sad right now...

I could use a little advice - this large egg (see photo) was 21 days under the hen and nothing has happened - no taps, no peeps, nothing. I'm sure it is twins, and I'm wondering if I should just not worry about it hatching. The hen makes a horrible fuss if I try to touch the egg or lift it to listen for a peep or tap. How long will she sit on it and if it is not going to hatch, will she roll it away from the nest? Thank you. Will add another photo to show how large the egg is.

hey Luke, sorry to hear about your chick, thats sad and hard but you did your best and sometimes nature just doesn't agree with us.

I have had 5 pips. One of the pips turned into a zip and hatched right in front of me!! WOW. Crazy cool. She/he is chirping like crazy trying to get her chick family to join her in the world.

I can not say how amazing this is. WOW.... I got the chick coming out of the shell on a video on my phone but dont know if/how to put it on here. It is just an eight second video.

Well, good luck with the rest. I will keep yall updated.
