Ok, this is my first time hatching duck eggs... I have read about people misting eggs, I didn't do it through my incubation. Although today, I thought what the heck, and I misted the quickly. As I suspected, it sent humidity up to 80% and fogged the windows. I wiped them down quick, and then saw a pip 5 minutes later!!! Should I mist more? How often? How high is TOO high for humidity on duck eggs in LD?? Any help is apprecited
TGarcia ~~ Glad your getting the humidity worked out. It took me a little bit of trial and error.
I am up to 10 pips now after 13 hours and I have one little chick working so hard at unzipping. This one is not a quiter that is for sure.
I had to start setting a timer to make myself keep busy. I have the timer set for 15 minutes and I have to do my housework for those 15 minutes then
I go look at the eggs for a bit and check on their progress. Husband says watched eggs won't hatch. lol Now, I'm hearing some different peeps, better go look.
I go into lockdown today. I will candle and remove bad eggs. I have such a bad time with shipped eggs. I got them from Gabbard Farms and have heard nothing but good things about them, so I hope they hatch. This is my first group of banties and I'm so excited I cant stand it any more. I think they will hatch early due to the fact the temp has been hovering around 99.6 to 100* the whole time. I have blue Ameraucana, wheaton pene's and golden cuckoo marans also. So please everyone keep fingers crossed I want those porcelain duccle baddddddddddd!!!!!!!!
