Hatch going wrong before I even put em in the bator!!!

This was what the person used but the eggs were too big for it. They were jumbo browns-not sure if that makes a difference. They didnt have any packing around the cartons and they were put in a capri sun box with some shredded paper around them. Not enough paper though cause they could move around inside the box.

Those cartons work well if you know how to use them, like quaillady said. I usually sell my eggs in assortments (colored pharaoh-sized birds and jumbo golds/browns), so the smaller eggs fit in those really well. I put the smaller eggs in the back near the fold and the larger eggs in the front near the opening so the carton doesn't have to be closed all the way.
I also take 3 sheets of toilet paper, folded in half midway then again folded lengthwise, and lay this across the tops of the eggs. This smooshes down in between the eggs to keep them from bumping each other and moving around. Then I use 1/2 sheet of bubble wrap and wrap the whole carton, after taping the carton closed with packing tape. Then the carton(s) is/are placed in a box filled with crumpled newspaper.

If I send a shipment of only eggs from the jumbos, I cut the carton in half on the fold so that the ones in the back don't get squished. Then I do the same as above to them.

The cartons keep them in 'one place', the packaging is what keeps them in one piece.

This is the ONLY way I've been sending coturnix eggs the past few years, my ebay feedback speaks for itself: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=friend-2-fowl&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller

ETA
: My bad, guess I have had a report of broken. The feedback on my ebay page from April 2, 2010 had a report of 1 broken...from 72. I'm sure I sent at least 80 eggs if not more.

I dont think the cartons were really the big problem. It was that they werent cushioned around it. Sounds like your setup would work well. If I ever get any to hatch I will need all of you guys' advice so I know how best to sell and ship eggs. Chalk this one up to a learning experience.

Shipping them is pretty easy, just make sure they are secure in the box and they don't touch other eggs or the sides of the box. I've sent some before without bubble wrap I'm sure, as long as they have plenty of padding they're fine.

Have not received eggs from shelly....but have got eggs packed like she is packing them....100s in the orders each time ....no broken eggs.......tell you try her way .....be glad you did........

Those other ways I have received some broken....even tha foam for quail eggs, outside one are broken. Of all the quail eggs i have received , Shelly way has been the best , as i said before NO broken eggs....all the other i have always had a few broken.

This is how I get my (not quail) eggs. I swear, the painstaking unwrapping of each individual egg makes it so much more worth it in the end, "Yeah you see that CHICK. I UNWRAPPED you THEN I hatched you! And - I FED YOU! I am your L-rd! BOW TO ME!" But I do this solely for the G-d complex.

I might try some plastics in the net few weeks. The chicken egg cartons are great for small orders. You can pad them really well and they close all the way. A little insulation wrapped around them, then fill the rest with straw or paper. Here is a review I got:

Hello Robert of Smoky Mountain Poultry
You rock the 4 dozen+ eggs got here in great shape, Supper fast shipping. The post office went wild on the box, but your great packaging save the eggs. I love the assortment of colors they are, the pure cream colored eggs are my favorite. Thank you for all the extras you sent me. I keep you informed with how the hatch goes. I look forward to dealing with you again and I highly recommend you to all. Thanks again and have a Great week Dennis

I screwed up earlier. It wasnt jumbo browns at all but A&Ms. They are jumbo size to though right?

I don't want to open up the whole moby quail debate but there are no Texas A&M's. There are large white birds but no white meat giants. The birds can be big or small, it just depends on the bloodline.
