I had the most amazing thing happen last night when I candled one of my eggs, it was almost surreal. I picked just one egg out, it has a white shell and I stuck the torch under it in the dark. I saw a slight blob, definitely not a dark blob so almost thought that it was just the yolk, or the start of a blood ring. I stood there for 2 minutes just looking trying to see if there was anything definable in there. And then all of a sudden the blob kinda moved around inside the shell and on the other side of the blob was the most amazing veining coming out from a dark black spot. I wish I had have taken a photo and it has now made me re-think how I candle. I may have looked at it for a bit and decided i could not see anything promenent and even though I wouldn't have chucked it at that stage, may have thought it was a quitter, now i will always try to see the other side, it was sooo clear and obvious! I might try to take a photo tonight, I am on day 5

lol i had that happen to, thats y i wait before i through out eggs i think r bad, good thing u saw that, look 4wrd to a pic, hers a pic of a egg thats been in there 3 days, not throughing it out till 2 more days even though i know its no good, i just want to be sure. this is a non fertile egg

oh and i found out somthing that helped me see veins in the eggs, on eggs i though were no good i took pics, well when i put them on the pc i saw veins, the camera caught them when my eyes didnt, i was surprised lol

full bator, and im guessing less than half will hatch, all shipped eggs

I have eggs due to hatch under my 2 broodies in 2 days also (they are sitting on a total of 21 eggs and I know 2 are no good so potentially 19 babies to hatch) so I am beside myself with excitement!!!

ya i turn me eggs slowly when i candle to see all sides of the egg and i do it in the darkest spot i can find, hope u can get a good pic, its hard for me to get a good one i have to take like 15 pics and only 4 r visable haha

I put 12 Buff and Blue Black Orpingtons in the incubator on the 20th but I am not holding my breath. I had ordered them the week before and I was supposed to recieve them friday the 16th but they never arrived, nor did they the 17th etc until FINALLY the post lady brought them to me on the morning of the 20th....lost somewhere along the distance of 200 miles...hmpf. The weather was up and down, rainy and one side of the box looked like someone sat on it so I can only imagine what the eggs went through although all were intact. So what are my changes of any of them being viable?

im still unsure about mine, all mine were shipped and all came in great packaging and all were fine except the ones that came today, an egg was broken, and the box was crushed, i put them in the bator today, but idk if any will make it to lockdown, all we can do is hope, 3 of my other eggs from other packages developed blood lines on the 3rd day, so idk what the % of the eggs hatching is ganna b

Well here are some photo's of my eggs, taken at the end of day 5 with a dodgey camera but you can still see the development
