Wow who knew that a Temu incubator could be better than one off Amazon LOL!!!
I'm sorry about your experience with all the broken and dirty eggs! Yuck! That was def the breeder's fault. Did u get a refund?
Since you already have high humidity, you could try the dry hatch method. Idk if it works with quail eggs because I only breed and hatch baby chickens. So basically instead of adding water you just let it be and that's about it. I only got 12/24 but it wasn't because of the method, it was because I got several yolkers. But I also had several quitters

I didn’t get a refund for the experience because I kinda felt bad, I had the impression that this person was a hobbyist and I would feel mean saying anything. I know that’s just me probably being too nice but I really do feel bad saying something They had refunded me for the cracked eggs on arrival at least.

I did think about the dry hatch method! I’m not sure if it’s possible for me though, indoors I’m at a consistent 40% humidity and when I used the incubator with no added water it was the same. I did see some videos of people doing the dry hatch method with quail eggs on YouTube so I definitely think it works! I could probably get away with adding no water, but I do think the hatch rates may get reduced since quail eggs are so dense and the humidity helps soften them up.

They are coturnix quail chicks! The ones that just hatched are a variety of red range & tuxedos, with a white one in the mix. They’re also celadons!

Update: We have a very spoiled chick who cries constantly, but if it gets special attention, it stops. It’s just this one, none of the others do it.

I have conceded. It’s now a lap quail and I wrap it in a heated towel and it falls right asleep.
