It also might have an effect because a 2 story chicken egg layer barn just burned up over in New Jersey. They will maybe need to replace their hen's too by buying big order's of laying hen chick's from the hatcheries?

I have a shipment of Bielefelder hatching egg's that just shipped out today from Omega Hills Hatchery over in Mississippi. They sell chick's there too, but I prefer to hatch them myself.

Hoover's has chicks to ship tomorrow. I have only had their EEs and they were one of the nicest colored group of EEs I have had. Not the regular brown.

Mt Healthy let's me order pullets for 2-22 but who knows?

Definitely an interesting idea.

Of course those numbers rely on their sexing being 90% accurate. If they are more accurate with the sexing, you would have fewer pullets than that.

and you'd pay a lot, per pound of feed, to get a few pounds of scrawny "meat".

Also, even though they show as sold out thru march or so, you can call them and put an order in for beyond that (probably)--I did that once before.

I guess someone could buy 100 males and end up with 90 in the freezer and 10 pullets...
