Hatching 16 duck eggs

Is this ok? I didn't have very good tools for this.

I am worried I nicked him or something, suddenly when candling the egg I can see him moving around. Please don't say I just killed him!

Ok I poked the membrane and now it'd leaking a bit of goo, not sure what that is.

Are you sure it’s alive? Do you hear peeps? Does the goo have blood in it? I’m not sure what the goo is I’ve never had that happen. Do you have a picture? Hope everything works out.

Oh sorry I didn’t see the picture. That doesn’t look like blood or yolk so I don’t think you’ve killed him.

Probably because he’s breathing that may have excited him. You didn’t cut him so this is probably good he may be trying to hatch. Maybe just give him a rest for right now. He can breathe so that should really depend on what’s happening he may get stronger or he may need help. Praying for this little baby. Sorry I know this is so stressful.

How is he doing?

The one in the egg is stil moving, but was a but harder to see him this time. The one who hatched is a bit strange but alive. Looked like something was bothering the one thats hatched, he was shaking his head and stuff. He isn't anymore they was a while ago.

Do you have food and water in his brooder? Sometimes ducklings choke a little and they shake their head and jump around but if he has stopped then he should be fine. Do you have a picture?
