HATCHING begins TODAY! 6/29/10 page 4 update Silkie eggs

I received 18 eggs from Glenn See (blue) and 20 from Kathy Leininger (black). I cracked one when I was marking it with the initials so will be starting 37. They arrived in great shape so I am hoping that they do well. Will update as it goes on.

Wasnt Glenn See offering 18 silkie eggs on eggbid? I wanted them but I already had my bator full of Bobbi Porto eggs lol Let me know your hatch rate and quality of chicks when they hatch. I might consider buying eggs from him one day! Good luck. Hope you get a good hatch rate. I have 24 shipped eggs from Bobbi POrto now that are on day 19. No pips yet and only 8 made it to lockdown.

Yes, I got them through Kathy from him. Bought some from both of them and she was able to ship them both to me in the same box. I bought 18 from her and got 20 and bought 12 from him and got 18. I have had and seen birds from Kathy before and she has gorgeous blacks. I have not had nor seen birds from Glenn, but have heard great things about his stock.

[Three Cedars Silkies]

They have the blackest black silkies I've ever seen!! A few of my best black hens are from Kathy/Glen's eggs. Even the soft feathers have a beetle green sheen to them.

At the last show I attended, I couldn't believe the "black" silkies. They were absolutely brown compared to mine at home!!

Put 13 Auracana eggs in today. Cant wait t see the cute little fuzz butts lol x will watch to see how you do with your silkies. Man this is so exciting .

I put in 30 silkie eggs on June 9th - should have a hatch around June 30th - although my babies always come out a day early...I guess they are just so excited to see me - lol

I got them from Mary in Georgia - I am not sure of her farm name, but she has some beautiful birds! I LOVE her blacks...they have the tallest crests! I can't wait - I ordered from dearest Bobbi Porto last hatch and my air sacs were damaged in shipping

- I only got one baby...but my goodness that baby is PERFECTION!

I can't wait to see what I have here - they are b/b/s & white...there may be a few partridge too - not sure....my baby from Bobbi was marked partridge on the egg, but came out a white - lol...

[Bat Cave Silkies]

littledirtlane~~I've ordered eggs from about a dozen breeders this year~~my BEST hatch was from eggs I bought from Mary Brooks-Robbins. I've got 12 of her little fuzzy butts in the grow out pen right now.

I bought blue and black eggs from Kathy/Glenn~~just love their birds~~but couldn't get any to hatch. Thought for sure with the short mailing distance I'd have a good hatch, but it just wasn't to be

Oh poo. Did any grow even? Looks like it's the same distance for me, too. I will be so upset if I cannot even get a few to hatch.

I just candled the Mary Brooks Robbins eggs - this is just day 3 for me but there is crazy veining all over! I am so excited! I know Mary has some BEAUTIFUL birds - how were the quality of your chicks? I would love to see a picture!
