Hatching buddy? Set today, due May 18th

I have 23 duck eggs due the 18th of May!! I set them a week befor eyou though. Candeled the other night and they look GREAT! I threw one out in the very beginning (day 7 of candeling) because it was clear.

I have a broody Buff Orph. I put 10 eggs under her on April 27th , and thought my hatch day was the 17th of May. This is my first time so we will see.

I candled again last night (day 3) and can still only see the yolk shadow. I've heard with blue eggs it's best to wait until days 7-10 so I'm not going to worry about it until then. Molly's been doing GREAT so I'll be surprised if there are any problems. They all have a yolk shadow and don't look like our clear infertile ones so I think they're all developing

Sad update: yesterday night I let my broody hen outside the coop to eat and my mom needed to go to the gas station so I went with her thinking I would be back in 10 mins, we got a flat!!!! we were gone for 1 hour, and chip was away from her nest, and yesterday it was 30 degrees! I feel terrible...

I took her eggs away,sice they were cold. And since I had a few chicks in the brooder I gave the 5 to her, and shes happy.

I always candle on day 7. Yep I like to candle in the evening so when I turn the room light off it makes it easier to see when shining the light from the flashlight through the eggs. The only other time I like to candle is right before lockdown on day 18 to make sure the eggs are developing on time. I also sniff at the bator periodically during incubation and check for signs of oozing or leakage as this is a sign of an egg gone bad. I have a fear of one exploding after reading about it.

My eggs are under a hen though - any advice? I did number the eggs, so that might be helpful?
