My silkie is broody... Woohooo! I am giving up on the horrible bator that I bought and decided to set six eggs with my girl. I had to move her because her nest wasn't safe. Let's see what happens!!

my silkie is sitting on 8 eggs she was sitting on 9 but 2 days ago one exploded and it got over everthing i was panicking but today it is all cleaned up she cleaned it all amazing i tought all the eggs would die i checked today and one piped im on day 19 ahhh this is her 3rd time hatching

awe she's a pro! I'm only on day three. She seemed to have moved two of the eggs away which is funny because they r the two I suspected to be unfertilized. Coincidence? I put them back under her but if she moves them again I'll candle. I was planning to candle them all on Saturday anyway. Go silkies!!!

yah in my last hatch with her i tought one was infetile when i candeled them the next day she eat it all the others where fertile

The day has arrived!
22 eggs set

2 bators - 13 eggs in one, 9 in the other

6 X Cream Legbar
6 X Lavender Orpington
4 X Buff Orpington
6 X Welsummer

2 of my Buff Orpington eggs didn't look up to scratch and since I didn't have enough room
I decided they had to go

Still! Day 1 is here and I'll be posting updates - there are some beautiful eggs in there

My 3 chickies are doing well, all of them full of energy and steadily growing - they are
just over 2 weeks old now, and have moved into the old pig sty to live for a few weeks

I just put my Rouen duck eggs in lock down! I have 6 eggs, one is pipping! I am so excited!
