Hello
I'm on day 14 of my first hatch with 4 of 7 still going strong, lots of moving around when candled today. Had 2 that never started growing and 1 that had a few veins but died pretty early(I'm guessing from the incubator temp spike). We have 2 Wheaten Ameraucana, 1 Splash Ameraucana and 1 Cream Legbar. Can wait for 7/29

Good luck with your hatch. I have a staggered and Buffy the broody buff orp bantam due the same day as you also.

Well the second chick hatched ill be putting them under a hen tonight! Hey dont beat your self up when i was little i cracked and egg open and a live chick came out, i cried for days!

Poor kid I bet you were scarred! Well not too badly scarred you are hatching chicks lol when you candle an overdue egg like that and the air sac is dark do you know what that means? I couldn't even hardly see it like it had fluid in it or something? The air sac in the other egg was still clearly defined and intact. I am guessing it pipped the sac and then died before it got out but like I said I didn't have the nerve to really dissect it.

I had a change of plans can chicks stay in an incubator for like two days

what kind of incubators have you all used? I was going to get the brinsea mini eco, but I read a few reviews to where the thing quit working half way thru incubation. That would stink. I would realy like the brinsea mini advance but that is so expensive. What have you guys had luck with?
