Hi All, I am becoming a basketcase waiting...today Saturday is day 21...I have one pip that occurred yesterday in the afternoon, but nothing since and my husband thinks the tiny pip didnt break the inner membrane of the shell but just poked the shell out. I am so nervous. I only have seven eggs in and would like for just two of them to hatch. At this point I don't even care if they are boys lol . I am so excited as this is my first time. They are shipped eggs and I know I shouldn't count my eggs before they hatch. at least five of the seven looked good and the two unsure ones didnt have any odor or distinct signs of death so I left them in. I have a feeling I won't sleep tonight.

All of that sounds amazing -especially that miracle egg I really hope it hatches!

Here's the doctored egg, still doing well. It goes into lockdown today!

thats wonderfull mine just went into lock down. here comes the sitting on hands and checking for humidity and temp. three or four more days

Im on day 18 my second time hatching. I have a Brinsea eco 20 and a homemade incubator I use for lockdown so I can run staggered hatch. Also first time trying a friends farm innovator as she was having problems, 5 tries and only 2 chicks so brought it home. No wonder the thermostat is clearly not working correctly, jumps from 95-104. Lost 29/41 so far. Brinsea is amazing, last hatch was 17/19 2 duds from a friend. At the moment I have 13 in lockdown and they are going nuts shaking around. Last batch hatched 3 days early and all are alive and thriving so expecting another early hatch due to their activity. I parked a recliners recliner in my incubator room and haven't slept in over 48 hours. They said you mellow out after first hatch, lies. I think im more excited this time around. I have second in staggered due 7/29 and farm junk 7/31 also 3 broodies due 7/27, 7/29 and 8/1. If I get half of what's due ill be happy! Good luck everyone with your incubating and hatching.

i lock down this afernoon and cant get temp from 98-99 the humidity is 70 in one thermometer and 64 on another, if it stays that way i think i should be fine

Highest I can get homemade is 70% and last batch hatched with no problems so you should be ok I'd think. Good luck!!

i would love a home made hatching bator so i can hatch twice a month

Nothing special just made of parts I had around here. $6 for the light from Walmart for heat.

Hello. I am incubating chicken eggs and I am on day 21 in my little giant incubator. I don't see any change in my eggs. I have one that looks like it is starting to ooze something but I am not seeing any pip holes.I believe to oozing one may be rotten. Scared to open bator and take it out. My temp and humidity are right on and have been through the whole process. I guess my question is how much longer should I leave them in there???;Help.. Thanks
