I bet they're lilac/lavender. This is a lavender ancona. You can see how it just looks kinda gray and it's hard to tell there's chocolate involved - but there is.

it funny my drake was all blue as a youth, the brown and black didn't express till adult feathers.

What color are the parents? I'm suspecting what you have here is a black bibbed and a chocolate bibbed.
