Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

I already have 3 hens growing out. My one rooster had to be culled due to lameness.

My first batch of NJ I hatched - 11 of 12 hatched and ALL WERE GIRLS. Second batch 5 out of 7 ALL WERE BOYS - both from different parents so I could pair them up. How LUCKY was that!!
(Now no one is cooperating - I did go to the little zip ties and am able to keep everyone recorded so I at least know what I have) I did not know how difficult it was going to be to keep all breeds cataloged and tagged so I would know which ones I got from whom so I could order from another source to have breeding pairs etc... There's a lot to being a "hobby farmer" if you want to do it right. As a teacher I always thought I was organized. Then I got chickens......

house was just shaking, then a deep low rumble and the dogs were barking. Yep another launch from the space center just happened lol

We are 3-4 miles from the launch pads.

We live ON TOP of the New Madrid Fault line. They have been predicting a MAJOR earth quake for the last 4 - 5 years. If my house started to shake, I would be looking for the end of life as I know it..... I can not imagine living that close to the launch pad.

Yep! I'm picking out the ones I want to keep and I think I will offer the others for the next backward swap. I also have "extra" Buttercups!
