Hi Everyone!! WOW what a storm last night. Lost internet service but elect. never went out so incubators stayed on. Was feeling good about that then went outside

It will take the rest of the week and weekend to sort out and find all the stuff that is now everywhere. I'm not even sure some of it is mine! There were 3 tornado's close. I guess I could literally have someone else's sttuff. Still feel blessed. Thought we were going to blow away - literally.

Finally found someone to sell me Spangled OEGB eggs as I never found a rooster to replace my beloved Bean - Here is what arrived today...

We had those same storms here. VERY SCARY. I didn't get the BIG picture till we came home tonight. The road was blocked this morning. HUGE trees down all over our street.... just really our street and a couple of more. There was a tornado touch down not too far from here... I swear that thing FORMED over our house. The house was moaning and you could hear the trees moaning too. I heard a roar I don't EVER want to hear again. Glad you are OK too. We didn't have any damage at our house.... but every house around us seems to have trees down.


I am afraid my eggs are going to look like that with all the bad weather.

I am glad you are OK. I thought about you when they mentioned tornadoes around Nashville and surrounding areas. We were under a tornado watch since early this afternoon, but so far just some pretty high winds, and a little rain. I just pray the power stays on for my incubators!

Praying everyone is safe during all these storms and weird weather we are having!

My Buff Favs are having a good laugh! It's like they KNEW I needed them to lay eggs yesterday morning and they thought "we'll show her!

" well I got one yesterday though it was collected by DH. I went out toady and ALL six laid!

Of course AFTER I'd made sure that COF's package was on the way to the post office! Well needless to say the post office is going to LOVE me tomorrow. I'm sending out packages to COF, Filumene and Madamwlf. Friday or Sat should be spoiledchicken, Krafty, RBF and KYT!

Maybe one or two more! Depends on how well the wood burning goes over the next few days! Plan on sending swindledana eggs and carrier together probably next week. Puglady your eggs should ship next Saturday if that works for you! Don't know why I'm posting all this since I need to PM people for addresses!

Meds are finally starting to wear off! Can you tell!

Glad you are ok from storms, but that box of eggs is shocking. Were they not wrapped in bubble wrap?
I've just borrowed a LG 30 egg to try to do better (after my diy bator killed most everything the past 2 trys) but seeing that puddle of eggs is distressing.
I can't afford to buy eggs & have that sort of result so seeing that makes me wonder about even trying to do shipped eggs on the breeds I want. I am perplexed

I certainly hope they make up your loss, but it won't make up for the upset of getting a box like that.

we are getting amazing rain and wind...got leakage dripping down our chimney.

the rain is coming sideways.

I hope everyone is safe in these storms. that tornado sounds interesting...but not the kind of interesting that you really want anywhere near you.

I think I need to develop a plan for if the electricity goes out...hmmm....all eggs and chicks under the broody hen?

oh, maybe I can go get one of the dorkings and make her sit on some of the eggs for the night. Noone else is broody right now but if she's in a small enough container with nowhere else to sit....

That's why I moved from south Louisiana where EVERYTHING wants to kill you, including the weather to the ever so bland north of england where NOTHING wants to offend you let alone kill you! That was a little too boring, and far from home. So we settled on Oregon, after Yosemite, as it's closer to his original climate and not boring by any means.....though little here wants to kill you..... other than your neighbors when you have lots of roosters.......

which I personally would NEVER have.... *ahem* we only raise the non crowing kind!

Make it a small enclosed box and the heat will keep them going for a good long time.
