So, DH is back from the interview in CA. I picked up him and the hiring manager from the airport. The hiring manager was super excited and said he will be sending an offer in the next couple of days. So...Yay!

Well today I had the directv installer out, replacing the dishnet, received eggs from pastrymama all looking very snug and well, fed all the animals, tuck the chickens in, got hay rolls in and put out for the cattle and horses, made a feed store run and worked in the office finding freight for hubby....paid for a puter, sold some chickens and now bath time!!!!!!!!

KYT... I to feel your pain on the incubator issues. My bator is ALMOST FULL.... and the turner has gone out

I am turning them by hand, it is working ok, but they are not getting turned as much as I would like. I am only at the farm for a few hours most days. I can turn it 3 times a day, but I have been used to them being turned 6 times a day. Tomorrow I will visit a machine shop and see if he can help me with a fix. My turner has small plastic gears that are getting stripped. I don't have a CLUE how to GEAR it DOWN without that gizmo.

I too had babies hatching today. From my own eggs 5 Cuckoos Marns (2-3 blues), 2 Splash and 2 Black Coppers Marans, and 3 Project Rocks, From shipped eggs 1 Light Sussex, 2 Choc Splits?, 2 Rhodebar (Pullets I think) and 1 WHITE REALLY WHITE Rhodebar? . I had 3 CCL pipping and 3 more Copper Marans. Not bad for shipped eggs. I expect more tomorrow.

I still can't BUY a Rhodebar Roo.

I also got my eggs from Dick Hortsman. Packing was ok. He wrapped the eggs in newspaper and backed them in egg cartons. No breakage so I am EXCITED about that

PAPA BROODER- That WHITE Rhodebar, could it be a LS????? Looks just like the one that hatched. 99.999% sure it had an R on it. BTW Got your EGGS they looked GREAT.

ANYBODY that owes me eggs and wants to ship in the next week or two..... PLEASE let me know. MY bator is REALLY Nearly full and I know I have 3 doz eggs from GS Poultry I have to make room for.

Okay I have a question. What would you do? I sent eggs to someone in southern Oregon. I sent 16 and asked her to keep me updated and gave lots of hatching tips. Didn't hear anything until recently. She emails me today and said that she didn't have any hatch. She said that she had two fully formed that pipped but died in the shell. She then said she had 14 clear :/ I guess I'm just unsure of what to say or do because I originally said I would replace any clear/unfertile but would like pictures of them which she didn't take. I've shipped eggs all over and have had good hatch rates. I personally get 80-100% at home. I guess I'm just a little wary when someone says that they've had 0% when following good hatching guidelines and claim to be. A pretty experienced hatcher. She's now asking about chicks or pullets. I guess I just don't know what to think. Any thoughts....comments?

Personally, that's the risk with shipped eggs. She can't say they were infertile. We all know how rough the PO is with those packages. I would send her more but she would pay shipping.

Morning! Snow started already, just a dusting but expecting 24"

Up early and got everyones food and water topped off. I'm thinking of crawling back under the covers for a few hours.

We had freezing rain this morning and now it's just rain. You can keep that white stuff up your way! Did your peeps make it through the night?
