Good Morning Everyone!! I have 38 eggs in lock down BBS Merans, Silver Phoenix, Coronation, White Faced Black Spanish Bantam,Naked Neck and White Silkie. This is their 4th day and NOT ONE PIP
idunno.gif
I'm getting worried.... They all had movement when I put them in. Heat and Humidity are great... Does anyone know if these breeds sometime hatch later than others? I have never had a full incubator not hatch one egg. They are in my Genesis 1588 and I have had many successful hatch's in it....

I am jealous of those with snow.... I Love Snow!! It seems like the older I get, the less snow Missouri gets. If we get anything, it's usually ice. Once in awhile some snow.

I'm putting duck eggs in lock down tomorrow. What should the humidity be for duck????

Hope everyone is having a great day. I personally am at work and should be writing lesson plans but I can't resist a peak at what everyone else is doing. I would like to be watching "chick TV" and actually see one pip in front of my eyes. How exciting. I never get tired of staring at eggs.

For those of you who read last night about my husband threatening to put my young roo's out of the basement and into the barn if they didn't stop waking him up too early. The talk worked, they did not crow until the alarm went off. Then my husband looks at me and says "what wrong with BoBo ??" (his fav. roo) Men -

AyeUp, personally I would replace eggs WITH EGGS on this order so long as she paid postage and in future would tell people at purchase that hatching eggs are not guaranteed except for damage upon arrival so long as they send you pictures of the damage eggs still in the shipping box, and chalk it up to "lesson learned". Sadly, there are people in this world who are MORE likely to walk all over you if you're too helpful. Luckily, not too many of 'em :)

I did and always tell people I don't guarantee hatch. There are just too many variables. I did say I'd replace any that hadn't developed but that I wanted pictures of them.

I think I'll tell her that ill replace the eggs but she can pay for postage.

Good morning, Billie Sue! That's a nice mix :) I've got silkies and more silkies and orpingtons and basques and ameraucanas in lockdown, along with a couple of Black Ducth bantams and my lone OEGB -- 46 eggs? 47? I've lost track. Fingers crossed for you! And maybe they're just taking their time? Nothing to do but sit on your hands and wait -- I know the feeling! And I know you know this but sometimes the pips aren't visible

The story about your hubby cracked me up! Yep, it's the nature of the beast, I think

I have heard that 65-70% humidity is ideal for duck eggs, but I personally haven't gotten one to hatch yet (although I've only had three to experiment on) so I'm probably not the right person to be passing on information...

Got totes and cages mucked out, have to do some cleaning in the kitchen, then it's time to go pick up more eggs!

I just checked my email - I posted some silkies I wanted to move out of the barn and I had 15 people begging PICK ME - I guess I should raise my prices!! I have more eggs coming today from papa - am super excited. Really hope I don't have a "no hatch" That would be a real bummer with the variety that is in there....
Hope you have a great hatch... Have yet to make a 100% hatch this year, but it is only Feb..

I guess it's too early. I don't guarantee development. I didn't word that correctly. I told her I guaranteed fertility. I had to explain but she said they were all clear. I said if they have a bullseye they're fertile AND people all over the country are hatching them. Not 100% but I don't always get 100% from my eggs. She said that she hatched two EEs from a neighbor and 100% of those hatched. I bet she set two and both hatched.

I just don't like feeling like someone feels ripped off I suppose. I stand behind my flock. I'm proud of them! I'll just have her pay for shipping and send more methinks!
