My guineas are about to find out what "recourse" means. I am not the enemy, so shut up already!

But I'm sorry for your ears!

You can send money via Pay Pal through the "Personal" tab. "Gift" is an option there.

Now, it's worth noting that PP will STILL charge you a fee if you use a credit card instead of PP funds or a direct bank $ transfer.

Perhaps it should be put in the rules that the person offering PP is responsible for the fees to prevent confusion.

I'm not 100% sure, but on credit cards, thats a TOU violation and can get you in trouble. I'd be surprised if it wasn't for pp. At one point it was illegal even, but I don't remember if it still is.
Do not ask how many years I was involved in retail one way or another :D.

Also, turkeys have eaten my house guests rent check... they are become less cute down here!

Sorry, I had no idea about that. I'll remember next time. I assume there is a different tab on PP that you use?
Not your fault. Lol.... You didn't know I was just using it as an example. I have had it done many times for when I accepted claims. It isn't that big of a deal. We are just trying to remind everyone of the option to gift PP. No worries.

Well if it's a debit card, PP recognizes it as a CC and it's not on credit, but drawing from a bank account, so I really don't see how that could possibly be against a TOU agreement with a person's bank.

I really am not concerned with the Paypal rules concerning buyer protection when it comes to hatching eggs since they refuse to cover them anyway.

Thanks. I wasn't taking it personally just wanted to let you know that I really didn't know. I'm betting that a lot of the newbies to the swaps have the same issue.

I didn't know about the gift option with pp either but someone mentioned it on the thread so I used it for the first time a couple of days ago. I've paid for other purchases to BYCers before without using the gift option and no seller has ever asked me to pay for the pp fee. I think it is a courtesy thing. I would not have thought of sending the pp as a gift myself because it really isn't a gift to the recipient. We swap goods on the thread and the pp IMO is really a payment in exchange for the eggs we claimed. If I offer pp again, I would specify $XX pp or $XX pp plus fee. The $XX pp means I may or may not pay for the fee whereas the $XX pp plus fee means I will be paying for the fee.

By the way, I just created an account on USPS dot com. I am going to save money on shipping from now on. Who knew I was going to learn about shipping options on BYC?
