Lol! My 5 year old started with his belly hurting, then he was crying because the base board heating was making noises, then he was hungry, then his brother was keeping him up, then his belly hurt again, but chocolate would make it feel better. Kids. Sheesh!

I don't understand males...lol...if he got hurt doing something ridiculous it would be "i'm fine" but a paper cut or the common cold (especially at bed time) and the world is ending! Sheesh is right.

And yeah tdhenson....sure....thousand needles?! :p. lol

Good Morning Everyone!!
Sorry to hear about the lost Rooster. I have been around pigs since I was a little girl and have seen them do awful things. I refuse to get around them.
I had a peacock that had respiratory issues. Not severe, but did not want to get to that point. I used the vet RX also but it didn't help. Someone on her told me to get Tylan200 and give him a half a cc. One shot was all it took. He was better by afternoon.

Hubby found my breed list last night.... Ask if it was my wish list. About had a stroke when I admitted it was the what I have or what is on the way list.

I have been banned from swapping until he builds more coops for what is or will be here. Everything I have now has nice pens and runs but I will run out quickly once spring gets here.

It didn't help my cause much when he found out that when we were in town getting feed, I was so involved with what the chickens needed I forgot we needed to go to the grocery store. Poor guy had half a bag of stale potato chips and a package of peanut butter crackers for supper.

So, since I had today off, I'm cleaning house, baking bread and cookies and planning a nice meal for him tonight. Guess I need to spend a little more time spoiling my hubby instead of the chickens... Hope everyone has a great day.......
Awww.....Glad to see the "Mr." being taken care of as well. Mine drives truck, all local work, but really long days. He has a 45 minute commute to work, and then he is gone from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. I would love to see him more each day, but I have to be thankful for a good job that pays well, even if it means long hours.
My friend is looking for Serama eggs. She has Pilgrim goose eggs to trade anyone interested in swapping?
I would!

How did you know I was lurking? I thought I hid real well too.

I had one Tom dress out at 20 lbs, but all the rest were between 13 and 18 lb excluding one cute little bugger that was 10. I haven't processed a hen. There my girls and I don't care what my hubby says. They will live out their lives with my fat girl Eva, BBW.

You usually keep them for at least three years and I know some that have had them longer, so phft to hubby.

As for keeping them with the chickens. Well you should check your local ag extension to see if blackhead is in your area first. If not then you can put them in with large fowl for sure, but they would need a bigger net box. They need room for their long tail and body to fit. Otherwise you could end up with eggs on the floor. Our girls will go down the hill to where our chickens are at, eat the food, chase a few Roos, check out the nest boxes and then follow and ride,4 wheeler, us home.

Thanks! I'll be stalking. I have Bourbons coming from Aye and Lilacs coming from someone else. I really don't need more, but I figure if I am doing large turkeys, I should also have a few smaller ones, right? I might have to get in with Profti and Kat also. LOL It will take a couple dozen eggs to get a breeding pen. (self justification)

I feel like that some nights....sometimes poor dh's breathing is just too loud!
I got a pair of NJs today and a trio of gold laced polish

Nice!!!!! I love gold laced chickens!
My son, who should be sleeping but is being very creative in his "cant go to sleep because" excuses tonight, just told me that his thumb is stinging like " a thousand needles and a drop of acid". I looked ....and it is a paper cut. Can you say dramatic!

Hey, those things can really hurt! I have a large format printer at work and the way that paper curls when it comes off of a roll like that can lead to some really hellacious paper cuts if you aren't careful. and this is from someone who has stuck her finger into a tablesaw twice! (both times very lucky...didn't even nick the bone)
