Ok the sun came out so I made the rounds outside to see how everyone was doing and give the horses some more hay. Harvey now has 5 eggs. That little stinker. So I grabbed her eggs and her and brought her in the house. I still didn't have the cage set up so I just put some bedding in a box with her eggs. Then when I got things set up I put her eggs in the cage. When I came back up I couldn't find Harvey anywhere! I spent about ten minutes looking everywhere then I heard her. She was ON MY BED! Holey crudey cupcakes!

Well she is now ensconced in the cage with her stolen eggs.

Hope she sits back on those eggs!

I'll be happy to trade as you as I get my supply built back up again. I keep giving it away. I'll check with a friend of mine, too, to see if she has any extra. There are a couple other people who have asked about it. It really is amazing stuff!

have you tried trimming their fluff? I would certainly try that first. I had that issue with my coronations.

butt fluff trimming usually helps those having fertility issues. we trim sebbie butts to help them out each spring.

Don't think it is that- they don't really have much fluff and my Cream roo mates them just fine.

I have never witnessed my White Legbar roo mate the girls only my Cream roo. I separated them weeks ago and now I am seeing clear eggs from the Whites

He is a really good Roo to the girls but I just don't think he is mating them. He is such a gentleman.

I am thinking about doing insemination with them

Has anyone on here done it? I watched a video on youtube and it doesn't look too hard (no pun intended)

Any tips?

Weather is so bad I was sent home from work early. Near blizzard conditions! should have 8-14 inches of snow by morning. Anyone want to come shovel!

Don't think it is that- they don't really have much fluff and my Cream roo mates them just fine.

I have never witnessed my White Legbar roo mate the girls only my Cream roo. I separated them weeks ago and now I am seeing clear eggs from the Whites  He is a really good Roo to the girls but I just don't think he is mating them. He is such a gentleman.

I've only ever did it with turkeys which is a two person job. The biggest thing is getting a clean sample. As in no feces.

I will tell you once they figure out what you want they start doing it without you. Like every time they see you. At least that's how turkeys are.

It grosses my husband out so I couldn't do it anymore.

Do not... I repeat. Do not send that down our way! lol. We're getting subzero windchills and snow down here in Southwest Michigan and that is more than I want to deal with let alone 12 more inches of snow.

Yay!!!! I'm so excited for all this great news. As for those of you waiting for all things wood thank you for being so patient! We had some issues with equipment and then wood but are picking up new Woodstock this week and I can burn my little heart out as my new burner is on its way. Swindledana should get hers today and Donna should have a big box of eggs from me today as well!

We have a small veg/herb/fruit farm and we home brew as well! Can't wait to trade some of those goodies!!!!

You can also get a sample and have it checked to make sure he's fertile. Although that can get pricey and you need a vet that can handle that.

I used a small sterile syringe for both collection and depositing.

So whenever Dahlisgrams comes over it will be .......hey baby, come on over here....LOL
