I am pretty bummed. My little black and yellow SFH died. She wasn't eating or drinking, so I isolated her from the others and gave her water via a little dropper. I just put the little drop on the end and she took the water. As she was drinking she began blowing like little air bubbles. About 5 minutes later, she just seized up, shock a little and died. Any thoughts?

it sounds respiratory, like she had something in her lungs mebby? its just a guess. Id listen to everyones breathing to make sure no one else is raspy.

It is a monthly swap of eggs put together by Mr Heinz. THINK it is still open for a few days. it is INSANE fun. I will be in the next one! I do not have a link to the thread but think it is in this forum, search!

Ok the sun came out so I made the rounds outside to see how everyone was doing and give the horses some more hay. Harvey now has 5 eggs. That little stinker. So I grabbed her eggs and her and brought her in the house. I still didn't have the cage set up so I just put some bedding in a box with her eggs. Then when I got things set up I put her eggs in the cage. When I came back up I couldn't find Harvey anywhere! I spent about ten minutes looking everywhere then I heard her. She was ON MY BED! Holey crudey cupcakes!

Well she is now ensconced in the cage with her stolen eggs.





Hope she sits back on those eggs!

You can also get a sample and have it checked to make sure he's fertile. Although that can get pricey and you need a vet that can handle that.

I used a small sterile syringe for both collection and depositing.

So whenever Dahlisgrams comes over it will be .......hey baby, come on over here....LOL

Good thinking on the fertility thing- I wonder if I can take a peek under the microscope and see for myself?

I never thought I would say this, but there was a benefit to making so little money last year. For the first time in 8 years, I am getting a small refund from the State of Michigan instead of owing them money!

They are at the PO but I don't leave work until 6 today. I'll pick them up first thing in the morning and set them!



Anyone have white leghorns or brown leghorns that lay as well as white ones?
