I have been canning for almost 30 years! (wow, I just realized how old that makes me sound) I have my mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers recipes written down. I would be happy to share with anyone who wants them. You may consider sitting aside a plot of ground for fresh herbs. Fresh can make or break a recipe!!

I would be very interested. My grandmother never did write hers down and my mother is at an age she can't remember how she did it and keeps telling me that I can find the recipe on the internet! um not your recipe Mom!

I would be happy to share! Are there certain things you would be more interested in? (ie..vegetables, fruits, sauces, etc.)

I know we've been chatting but I'm so sorry to hear that Jeannie.

We've both been through a lot with their birds over the last couple of months. I just put another young Rhodebar roo down myself last night that was from them for leg issues. I'm in the middle of having the state do a necropsy of a different young juvie that was from them. The preliminary results are not at bad as I had feared they may be however the full results with further testing will be back next week. I'm holding all birds right now until I get the final results. PM me if you were supposed to get any of these and we can discuss it in detail.

I would be... :) what do you can? the only thing I have ever done is tomatoes.. I would love to try something new and possibly do some preserves... We have black raspberry bushes everywhere.. i always that that would make a nice spread...

I have been coping all of the recipes to Microsoft Word. I will put it all together, connect it to my signature and then anyone who wants them can get them from there. I have a lot revolving around tomatoes - I love sauces, and many use wild berries or leaves (such as wild grape) and if you do not have access to them, you can use tame. There are also cakes, cookies and pies that use some unusual ingredients I can put on if you want them also.

It still amazes me that some of the strangest combination of ingredients can make such wonderful foods. One of our favorites is Corn Cob Jelly!!

OH - Just heard a chick peep in the hatcher!!

Gotta go check - catch up with everyone later. Know there will probably be 100 new post to read by evening! Have a great day everyone!!

She doesn't respond.  And if she does, it's just to say sorry.  It's really sad.  They have such beautiful birds and I wish they did more to ensure they had healthy genetically sound birds.

I know lots of us have received sick birds or birds that don't grow out to be what they were originally sold to us as. A friend ordered black spitz and they had the wrong crest and weren't blak. They were like a smutty silver. Like they used blacks with silvers or some other breed. :(

The problem I have with the spitz is they aren't sending the same colors. What can I do with a black, blue and some silver laced one. Not a thing. Can't breed them together at all.
