Are there Red Ams? I hear lots of BBS and lavender talk, but do red Ams exist?

There are Brown Red Ameraucanas in general but I don't know anyone working on them with the Silkied feather project.

I am just doing Lavenders for now but this summer plan on doing them in Lavender Wheaten.

I believe Chookschick in working on them in Chocolate as well. That's all I have heard so far.

spoiled...sending out a set of eggs for you this afternoon.

I don't want silkied red ones, just red ones to use as the Roo half of a sexlink EE...

The original stock was badly inbred and alot of these birds were dying for no apparent reason. The goal is to get far away from the original stock but keep that hookless gene.

Best bet is to breed the Silkied Feather ones to several unrelated smooth feather Ameraucanas and then breed the smooth feather siblings together. This will give you a good percentage of Silkied feather Ameraucanas with plenty of fresh blood. You can then breed the Silkied feather ones together for 100% Silkied feathered Ameraucanas (except don't breed your original again ;)

I have them in BBS and Lavender using that method :D

I should have the Lavenders available this Summer :woot

Do you have BBS silkied eggs? Or even just BBS... I guess I need to invest in some more! The ones I hatched are all splits except for one or two that are silkied. I would feel more comfortable not breeding siblings though, so think I should get another dozen eggs ;)

this question is for anyone with seramas....is their incubation time the same as with other chickens? I have heard the same and I have heard 18 days?

I treat them just like regular chicken eggs. All the ones that I have hatched out have pipped on day 20 and hatched on day 21. I have heard that some hatch earlier (day 18-19) but it hasn't happened for me yet.
