Add me to the Secret Santa. I've got lots of nice Chicken related items for the colder climate areas. Who knows if i'll have eggs then. My girls used to lay very well in the winter but i've sold most of those and bought Silkies from Bobbi Porto and they've been living the Florida life. Laying is slow so only time will tell.

Is everyone at the polls? It has gone eerily quiet.

I was, and then went to a wonderful "taste-testing". Everybody brought samples of their favorite Christmas dishes and shared around. By the time we got done having a nibble of this and just a taste of that, I was stuffed!!!

so i took a little nap while i had the chance...right? Well i wake up and check the bator cause i have kraftyladies and reesepoultry eggs on lockdown and one was hatched from kraftyladies and one pip and now theirs 2 hatched 3 pip and the rest rockin and rollin....Come on chickies..

I teach 5th grad at a Private Christian School here in Missouri. I have FINALLY gotten board approval to hatch eggs in my classroom and set up a small brooder so they can watch them grow. The kids are so excited! I was raised on a farm and it never really occurred to me that so many never get to experience the things I have truly taken for granted. My biggest problem now is figuring out what to put in the incubator and what day to put them in so the students can "see" them hatch.

Isn't it crazy the things you have to work to get a school board to approve??! That's really wonderful -- every kid should have the chance to see new life coming into the world, the wonderful cycle of nature that animals can teach us so well...

Here is the Secret Santa form. Please fill it out if you want to participate. We will have sign-ups until November 15th. I will send out your partner after that, and if it is OK with everyone I suggest we have gifts mailed so that they will be received by December 15th in case any items are Christmas related.
